We throw these big ones a ton during our salmonfly hatch and then during our golden stone hatch later in June. Throwing the purple chubby during the salmonfly hatch used to be an RVA guide secret, but the cat’s out of the bag so we might as well share with everyone. Royal purple, Red, Royal, and Gold are also good ones especially after the hatch has been going on a while and they’ve seen too many regular salmonfly imitations.
